Getting started

TwoPlacePaste has two parts: a relay server that you (or someone you trust) runs, and the desktop app on each of your computers. Your devices form a group that shares one encryption key. Whatever one device uploads, the others can paste.

  1. Run a relay server. You need a machine with Docker and a domain name. The Docker guide takes about five minutes, plus however long your reverse proxy takes to get a certificate.

  2. Install the desktop app on your first computer.

  3. Create a group. Sign in to the relay’s admin page, generate a creation link, and paste it into the app’s Pairing tab. → Create a group

  4. Add your other devices. Install the app on the second computer, then pair it with a code shown by the first one. → Add a device

  5. Copy, sync, paste. Copy something on one computer and press Sync now on the Sync tab (or in the tray menu). Press it on the other computer and paste. → Syncing the clipboard

Want it hands-free? Turn on Watch the clipboard on one device and Take what other devices upload on the other in Settings.
